Hey Lovelies!

I took a short break as life is trying to get back into full swing. Am I the only one attempting to find a new balance? It is tough. Motivation is a rollercoaster. With that, I may be posting every two weeks for now. I will try my best to stick to weekly. I enjoy blogging. For those that peek in every once in a while, I appreciate you.

In these last few weeks, a few opportunities landed in my schedule. If you are not following me on Instagram, you are missing out on my stint as a co-host on the Unhinged with Tylted Halo radio show on Red Ink Radio Live. I am a Tylted Tribe member and a monthly regular with the entire Tribe (see our latest shenanigans here). Recently, my big sis Tylted Halo conducted an interview of little ole me as a way for the listeners to meet me. Tune in on Tuesdays and listen in as we discuss "What's Really Going On" in this world. We pack the show with comedic commentary along with moments reflecting on issues happening around us. It's a great time!

Wait...there is more! This past week I recorded a CROWN Act video short with a wonderful dynamic duo, Reagan of C Suite Styling LLC and Marisa of OrganixLocs, who host a CROWN Act virtual conference all summer long. Catch the ladies go live with interviews showcasing different leaders of different arenas as well as the release of monthly CROWN Act Shorts, videos giving a model a workplace makeover. Other than that, I'm getting back to blogging and creating content for IG. I will get my TikTok life together! I promise. It's all in the balance of work, personal, and this thing called content creation. You know where to find me.

The CROWN is More Protected!

Our beloved The CROWN Act. It's getting traction! We officially have Delaware added to the list! This is the ninth state to pass The CROWN Act. We are still at sixteen localities. New Mexico is on the honorable mentions list. The state signed a bill inspired by The Crown Act.

If you are new here and haven't heard of The CROWN Act, I will recap my (updated) list of baseline talking points you should know.

1. The CROWN Act stands for Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair

2. The federal bill (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair Act of 2019 or the CROWN Act of 2019) passed the House (H.R.5309) on September 21, 2020.

3. The federal bill was introduced to the Senate (S.3167) on January 8, 2021.

4. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman introduced (H.R.2116) to end hair discrimination nationwide.

5. Senator Cory Booker re-introduced The CROWN Act to the Senate (S.888). Keep in mind, this is under the 117th Congress. The previous S.3167 was under the 116th Congress.

6. As of April 18, nine states and sixteen localities have passed The CROWN Act. That's right! You may be covered by The CROWN Act in your area.

7. One state has signed a bill inspired by The CROWN Act.

8. In 2020, twenty five states introduced the legislature. Unfortunately, it did not pass.

9. At the forefront of the fight, The CROWN Coalition is an alliance of organizations, including founding members Dove, National Urban League, Color Of Change, and Western Center on Law and Poverty.

I am sitting on my couch feeling amazing!

Why? I just listening to my first radio show appearance. That's right. I was a panelist on a sister friend's radio show. Truth is we have discussed this for a long time. We finally manifested her vision.

Let me tell you something. Get you a friend that is not only a confidante but a mentor when needed. She pushes me into the water forcing me to be a water walker, an exerciser of faith.

Let me not digress. HA!

I did a radio show and in the same week booked a gig as a model for a "local" event. It is local to me but to some...driving an hour on a turnpike and paying tolls is not local. (I'm a roadie. What can I say?)

I have decided to do the most in 2021. So far, I:

1. Launched this website

2. Started a blog

3. Recorded a radio show with more to come!

4. Booked an event as a model

5. Dabbled at TikTok

There is more to the proverbial list. It's passed time for me to write the vision down and make it plain. I know. "That's where you are supposed to start." Listen sis, some of us run differently. Give yourself space and grace to launch how YOU are supposed to. Sure, there is a formula that exists. Is success one size fits all? No.

Whatever your vision is, build up and match the energy now of where you are going. I had been stuck in my head for far too long. 202-ONE is about me handling me. I am walking the path I am on. There are days where I run. Days where I jog. Today is a day to stop and look at the view. There is path behind me. That's what matters. I am no longer in the same place.
